FAQ

Is my donation tax deductible?

Yes. Beza Threads is a recognized 501(c)3 non-profit, so 100% of your donation is tax deductible. Each January, you’ll receive a donation receipt that can be used for your tax filing needs.

How is my donation used?

Each month, we wire 95% of the donations received by Friends of Beza to our on-the-ground partners, Hope for Children in Ethiopia (HCE).  HCE uses these donations for your chosen program, Beza Protectors or Beza Rescuers.  Your funding provides for education, basic needs, teachers, nurses, and so much more. Learn more about the Beza Protectors and Beza Rescuers.

What do you mean by 95% of every dollar?

95% of every dollar we receive through Paypal goes directly to our partner organization Hope for Children Ethiopia. Before we receive your donation/gift/funds Paypal deducts a 2.2%+$0.30 transaction fee.  Feel free to send us additional questions to [email protected]

Will I be connected to an individual beneficiary, and what program updates can I expect?

Beza Threads uses a pool concept of donations to maximize the impact of your donation allowing 95% to go directly towards programming costs.  Within each program, Beza Protectors and Beza Rescuers, five beneficiaries will be put together in a group.  We connect you and other individuals with one of these five-person groups.  Once a quarter you will receive an update on your group.  This may include individual updates on all five beneficiaries in the group or a community update about a recent event they had.

How are payments processed?

All payments are processed through our secure Paypal portal.  Paypal is a leader in worldwide online payments, so you can know information is safe and secure.

How do I stop my recurring donation?

If you would like to conclude your recurring donation, send an email to [email protected] with “Stop Donation” in the subject line.  We will terminate your donations through Paypal’s secure portal.  You will receive a response confirming that your payments have been terminated.

Can I write letters or send gifts?

To maximize the impact of your donation, the Friends of Beza initiative does not facilitate letters and gifts. This lets us to avoid costly expenses of translators and shipping/customs. This allows us to pass along more funding to our partner organization, which invests love and support into the lives of our children and young adults each day. With 95% of your donation going directly to these programs, more lives can be changed.

What if I have questions or comments on the updates I have received?

Send an email to [email protected] and include “Friends of Beza” in the subject line.  Let us know what you are thinking and we will work with our partner Hope for Children in Ethiopia to get you the answer.  We will work diligently to respond within 2 business weeks.
