Donate to the Autumn Rupkey Scholarship Fund
Recently one of our founders and dear friends, Autumn Rupkey, passed away. Autumn has been one of our friends since before we began this journey of Beza Threads. We went to Ethiopia the first time together. So many deep and challenging conversations with Autumn followed that trip. I clearly remember after that trip when we sat down and decided to start Beza Threads.
Beza Threads would have never made it off the ground without Autumn. She has been the heart of the organization. She’s been on every trip to Ethiopia with us. She made the first website. There have been many events where she was there for setup, selling and tear down. She has never taken credit. But I can tell you that if not for Autumn and her willingness to serve, hundreds of Ethiopians would have never been rescued from slavery or offered a brighter future.
Autumn’s legacy will continue on through the work she started. But like just like Autumn, we want to do more. Through donations, we are establishing the Autumn Rupkey Scholarship Fund. When Autumn took her first trip during college, it was friends and family members that donated to make her trip possible. This trip changed her life and resulted in her being a part of the team that founded Beza Threads.
This scholarship will provide opportunities for college students to get to experience Ethiopia, in hopes that there might be another Autumn Rupkey out there that decides to do something about the issues they experience and the amazing people they meet. Donations through this page will go towards funding this scholarship, up to $1,500, and any excess will go towards the direct rescue of women in Ethiopia from forced prostitution.
