HELP US SAY, “YES”
TO WOMEN

WHO ARE DESPERATE FOR FREEDOM FROM SLAVERY

Imagine a world where every young woman can live free from the chains of slavery and sexual exploitation.

A world where they receive education, skills and resources to build a sustainable future.

This is the vision Beza Threads has been working towards since its founding in 2008. Our organization was established to support survivors of human trafficking, providing them with the community, education, and skill-building opportunities needed to restore hope in a hopeless situation. Beza Threads brings survivor-made products to the marketplace to help them not only survive — but thrive.

OUR IMPACT

Over the years, Beza Threads has impacted the lives of over 200 women and children in Ethiopia. We have helped break the cycle of generational poverty: empowering survivors to build better lives for themselves and future generations. The work is far from done. Funding is needed to say "YES" to all young women who are desperate for freedom from slavery.

Our capital campaign is focused on creating long-term, sustainable outcomes for Beza Threads and women we support. Our goal is to raise $150,000 to fund our organization for two years and directly support the escape, education, and training of twenty young women trapped in human trafficking. Through your partnership, we can continue impactful skill- training programs, providing survivors with the tools they need to thrive.

OUR VISION

Our ultimate vision is to create a world where every young woman has the opportunity to live a life of freedom and dignity. We are tired of turning young women away, and our goal is for the answer to be a resounding "yes" to all those who come seeking hope. With your help, this can become a reality.

MADE POSSIBLE BY YOU

We invite you to join us in this fight against global slavery and sexual exploitation. Together, our efforts can be maximized and multiplied.

With your pledge, we can empower many more survivors!

RESCUED FROM SLAVERY

Weyneshet

As a young girl, Wyneshet was forced to work in a sweatshop, often going months without any pay. Ultimately, she was forced into selling her body multiple times per night in order to make ends meet for her family. In 2017, she joined the program, escaping a life of forced prostitution and receiving trauma-centered care, medical attention, life skill training and job skill training. Today, as a graduate, she serves as a mentor for the program and works as a leather-making professional, creating goods that are sold to support the next generation of freedom.

“I can’t explain how I felt when I heard about the program,” she says. “I knew God was giving me another chance in life.” — Weyneshet

Edilawit Ashagre

Just like Weyneshet, Edilawit was able to escape the horrors of forced prostitution after being accepted into the program. Graduating at age 20 with life-changing job training and skills, she moved closer to home, was hired as a kitchen assistant and is earning a sustainable income that keeps her family and her younger siblings safe from being forced into commercial sex work the way she was.

“I am very happy in my life. I am working and helping my family. Above all, the life skill training program helped me to know about life and purpose, so that it is part of my happiness. I am so thankful for the support I received.” — Edilawit

“This program has generational impacts, rippling into the lives of so many. The girls empowered with freedom share their stories with those still trapped, creating a connection and hope for a brighter future.”
— Yonas, Executive Director in Ethiopia
